The Flagler Beach City Commission fired City Manager William Whitson, capping a rocky year and a withering night for the manager.

Becky Whitson, Flagler Beach City Manager William Whitson's wife, publicly accused the city commission of tormenting and killing her husband.

Flagler Beach City Manager William Whitson was fired Thursday night by a 4-1 vote.

The Commission has given City Manager William Whitson direction on how he should proceed on handling city priorities. The meeting also discussed the city's new app launching Jan. 23.

The entire design to rebuild dunes on the critically eroded shoreline south of the Flagler Beach pier is now out of date, and must be redone.

The commission also faced criticism from it's residents on their lack of communication.

The Flagler Beach Commission voted 3-2 to raise the cost of all city-provided utilities by 8.5 percent and the stormwater fee by 42 percent.
