Sterling police arrest robber at bank

Sterling Heights police said they moved quickly to arrest a man armed with a blade who allegedly robbed a bank Feb. 10.
Police said they got a 911 call at around 2:15 p.m. that an armed robbery was happening at Citizens Bank, 5775 14 Mile Road, near Mound Road. Police said they learned that the suspect was equipped with a “box cutter style knife” and was taking cash from a cashier drawer.
Police said officers went to the bank and “heroically took the suspect into custody,” found the blade and recovered $2,600. Sterling Heights Police Lt. Mario Bastianelli said no injuries were reported.
Passenger fires gun at another vehicle on Mound
Police said a passenger in a car driven by this woman fired at another vehicle on Mound Road Jan. 29.

Sterling Heights police are looking for a man who reportedly shot at another vehicle along Mound Road in Sterling Heights Jan. 29.
At around 8:25 a.m., two vehicles were traveling southbound on Mound Road, north of 15 Mile Road. The driver of a white Chevrolet Impala LS reportedly stopped and got out of her car to kick the other vehicle, police said.
Police said she was wearing a dark-colored jacket, red pants and red shoes at the time. Sterling Heights Police Lt. Mario Bastianelli did not specify what triggered the reported act beyond “driving.”
