Alaska Pollock Fishery Alliance was created on 7 March to provide unified industry representation of Alaskas pollock trawl fishery in public forums.

Two Alaskan groups and Maruha Nichiro have added to their holdings in Alaskas pollock fishery, buying nine fishing vessels and additional quota.

Coastal Villages Region Fund, Norton Sound Economic Development Corporation, and Maruha Nichiro are expanding their partnership to grow Alaska’s shoreside pollock business. The partnership includes the purchase of nine fishing vessels.

”Ouch," CVRF CEO Eric Deakin said was his reaction. "Before we did the deal in 2020, the projections were really high that the crab was headed up. And this was a total surprise.”
