The Michigan Board of Canvassers has deadlocked on the vote about whether to put the legalization of abortion on the November ballot, which rejects the petition.

Michigan's Board of Canvassers rejected an abortion rights initiative on Wednesday after its Republican board members voted against putting the proposed constitutional amendment on November's ballot.

The Board of State Canvassers deadlocked on sending the two measures to the November ballot. Any language to be printed on the ballot would need to head to the printer by Sept. 9.
