The chairman of the Senate Education Policy committee has filed a bill that would expand the number of households that could claim scholarships under the Alabama Accountability Act and more than double the schools that could fall under it.

At a ceremony Wednesday in Montgomery, Jeff Norris, an educator from Oak Mountain Middle School became the 2023-2024 Alabama Teacher of the Year.
