Nearly 58 years ago, Marise Chiverella was murdered and her body left in a hole in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. She was only 9 years old.

Police in Luzurne County solved a nearly 60-year-old cold case with the help of DNA evidence and a college volunteer genealogist. Marise Ann Chiverella, 9, was kidnapped, raped and murdered in 1964. Police identified her killer as James Paul Forte. This was the oldest cold case in Pennsylvania solved with DNA evidence.

"Justice has been served today," Marise Ann Chiverella's sister said.
