Florida Elections Commission general counsel arrested on child porn charges

The general counsel for the Florida Elections Commission was arrested Wednesday on charges of possession of child pornography, according to court records.
Eric M. Lipman, 59, was charged with 11 counts of the crime and taken to the Leon County Detention Facility.
Tim Vaccaro, executive director of the Elections Commission, confirmed Lipman s arrest in an email to the Tallahassee Democrat. The commission is fully cooperating with law enforcement’s investigation, Vaccaro said. The employee has been placed on administrative leave pending further information.

The general counsel for the Florida elections commission was arrested for possession of child porn Wednesday, according to The Tallahassee Democrat.
Courts records indicate that Eric M. Lipman was charged with 11 counts of possession of child pornography and was taken into custody at the Leon County Detention Facility, the Democrat reported.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest on Wednesday, but did not mention Lipman was general counsel at the state elections commission.

Lipman s arrest and charges came after the Sheriff’s Office of Internet Crimes Against Children got a tip in February from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children about possible child porn downloaded by a local individual.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â The Leon County Sheriffâs Office is continuing its investigation after arresting a Florida state employee on 11 counts of possession of child pornography.
According to court documents, Eric M. Lipman was arrested Tuesday on 11 counts of possession of child pornography after a six-week investigation.
Lipman s photo and other information were withheld from the arrest report by Florida Statute 119.071(4) (d). Under the statute, current or former State Attorneys, Assistant State Attorneys, State Prosecutors, and Assistant State Prosecutors, active or former Law Enforcement Personnel, etc. may keep arrest information private.

news release from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office stated Lipman, 59, was charged with 11 counts of possession of child pornography. The Sheriff’s office reported he was taken to the Leon County Detention Facility, but that his mugshot and other identifiers were being withheld. He was not listed as an inmate on the jail’s website Thursday.
