Man dies after Allentown shooting, coroner’s office reports (UPDATE) Updated May 11, 2021; A 29-year-old Allentown man died early Tuesday after being shot Monday night in Allentown, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and city police report. Erik Mondragon was pronounced dead at 12:22 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township. An autopsy was performed Tuesday, and Coroner Eric Minnich said just before noon that Mondragon died from a gunshot wound to the body. Minnich ruled the death a homicide. Officers responded about 10:50 p.m. to the 700 block Lehigh Street and found the wounded victim, police said. He was treated at the scene and city EMS took him to the hospital, police said.
