Jan. 16 stabbing death is Wallingford's second homicide in eight months

WALLINGFORD, Conn. — A stabbing death outside of a popular Wallingford café left the owner is complete shock by what happed nearly an hour after closing Saturday night.
Just before 10:30pm, outside of the Corner Café, in the Yalesville section of Wallingford, two men argued. One of them, Ernest Cipolli, 32, of Wallingford, was stabbed to death.
"Officers responded and they located a victim laying down in the parking lot, where he sustained several stab wounds," said Sgt. Stephen Jacques of the Wallingford Police Department.
Wallingford police responded to the Corner Café on Church Street at about 10:25 p.m. Saturday and found a local man laying on the ground of the parking lot. Police said the man, 32-year-old Ernest Cipolli, was bleeding from multiple stab wounds.

WALLINGFORD — A Meriden man was charged with murder after stabbing a Wallingford man numerous times outside a local bar late Saturday, police said Sunday.
Officers were called to the Corner Café on Church Street on a report of serious assault at about 10:25 p.m. Saturday and found Ernest Cipolli III, 32, lying in the parking lot and “bleeding from what appeared to be numerous stab wounds,” according to a police statement.
“They attempted life-saving measures, however, the victim succumbed to his injuries while in route to the hospital,” police said.
An investigation determined that Meriden resident Kristopher Carlson, 23, “had an altercation” with Cipolli in the cafe’s parking lot, during which Carlson used a knife and “stabbed him numerous times” and left the scene, according to police.
