Espression Arts Cafe in Canterbury closes permanently because of Covid-19 lockdown effect

A popular cafe has been forced to shut for good due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The owners of the Espression Arts Cafe in Palace Street, Canterbury, announced the closure on Facebook, posting: âLockdown has proved too much for us!â
Expression Arts Cafe has closed for good
The cafe had become an arts hub for the community, including for vulnerable people encouraged to join in painting pottery or creating mosaics while enjoying tea, coffee and cakes.
Since 2009 it had been run by Catherine Arnell and her partner Jean Rosette, who expanded its remit, working with the elderly and schools, earning them two KM Charity awards
