Dear Amy: My darling partner, “B,” has been a successful author, and has received a lot of satisfaction (and public acclaim) from it.

Dear Amy: A few years ago, my in-laws sent my (then) young-adult daughter a birthday card. Normally this would have included a monetary gift or gift card.

Dear Amy: I’ve become good friends with a co-worker who started at the same job I did over 12 years ago.

Dear Amy: My stepdaughter, “Serena,” and her husband, “Ned,” have two small children, ages 2 and 4. They also both have demanding, stressful jobs.

Dear Amy: My life is in a good place. My kids are out of the house, and I retired early.

Dear Amy: We are a family of seven siblings, all in our 60s.

Dear Amy: In the years following college, I had a close group of friends. As the years passed and our lives moved in different directions, our contact with each other gradually lessened, but we’d still keep in touch via Facebook, email, text, and the occasional dinner get-together.

Dear Amy: I really like my job, my boss, and my immediate coworkers.

Dear Amy: When I was pregnant with my first child, I was diagnosed with a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum.
