Meanwhile, 21 new deaths from the virus were reported across the country, bringing the national death toll to 2,936, said the ministry. The East African country also reported 1,297 more recoveries, taking the national count to 161,226. The latest figures from the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that Ethiopia s COVID-19 cases accounted for about 5 percent of the African continent s total. A statement by the Director, Publicity and Advocacy, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr Femi Babafemi, on Sunday, in Abuja, said the heroin was found concealed in the lining of a false bottom on his suitcase. NDLEA identified the 40-year-old suspect as hailing from Ikpoba Okha Local Government, Edo. According to the agency, Odeh was arrested at the departure lounge of the NAIA during an outward clearance of Ethiopian aircraft 911 en route Addis Ababa to Italy.
