He was loved very much by his family and will be missed terribly. Peter was born on March 31, 1933 in Utica to Carl A. Bovard and Lenora Mac Connell Bovard. He graduated from Lake Placid High School in 1951. He earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University in 1955. In 1956, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. This included a tour in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1958. Peter spent almost half of his life at his beloved North Star Resort in Deep River, Ontario. He was loved by generations of families who vacationed there year after year. Under his care the Ottawa Valley paradise thrived and it will go on for many more generations.

From this place, Hansen will deliver a Christmas Eve sermon to congregants both in person and online. For Christians, this is a time of year when the story of Jesus Christ’s birth is retold. Local faith leaders say there are lessons to be learned, and comfort to be clinched, from this traditional story.
