All remaining evacuation alerts for properties in Lake Country and Kelowna have been rescinded as the risk from the McDougall Creek wildfire abates in those cities. 

Areas where the fire already tore through are also still going to see a lot of fire activity but Brolund is confident about the stage of control in those areas.

Hot weather, strong winds causing increased fire activity have resulted in an evacuation of area

“While we are making good progress, there is a lot of work to do to make this area safe,” said North Westside fire chief Ross Kotscherofski.

There are currently 2 Evacuation Orders and 5 Evacuation Alerts issued by the RDBN
