For her second inauguration day outfit the First Lady of the United States Dr. Jill Biden championed another young American designer.
After she arrived in Washington wearing a tonal purple ensemble from New York-based designer Jonathan Cohen, Biden appeared at the official inauguration ceremony on Wednesday wearing a custom-made ocean blue wool tweed coat and dress set made by independent label Markarian.
Alexandra O’Neill, the New York-based design talent behind Markarian, said that she was “incredible humbled” to have been chosen for such an historic moment in American history.

The Bishop of London has urged churches to take into account the “seriousness of the capital’s coronavirus crisis when considering their plans to open for worship tomorrow.
Sarah Mullally, a former nurse who rose to be Chief Nursing Officer in the Department of Health before entering the church, shared a letter from London Councils asking faith leaders to consider voluntary closures.
“The situation is serious in @dioceseoflondon do read the request from @londoncouncils and consider the seriousness of the situation as you take your local decisions,” she tweeted.
