A hearty Emirati flavour party
The recently-launched DCT-backed Emirati Cuisine Programme is giving residents and visitors the opportunity to try some local flavours at a select number of hotels across the emirate until May. Under the programme, 32 chefs at approximately 30 hotels received training from Emirati chef Khulood Atiq to prepare and serve a range of authentic Emirati dishes. At Ingredients, Anantara Eastern Mangroves Abu Dhabi) for example, Chef Idin Asmitha has reworked ten Emirati classics, including ouzi, leguimat and madrooba.

The capital’s Japanese cuisine scene is given a massive, authentic lift by 99 Sushi’s Friday Zeitaku brunch. Diners will find a conveyor belt of courses of nigiri, tuna specialities, and sushi delivered direct to the table, with a range of beverage packages. Feast highlights include spicy tuna tartar with wakame seaweed, salmon flambé nigiri with lime, grilled foie gras nigiri with raspberry and tare sauce. Your dining experience will conclude with the Insta-fit mochi ice-cream. Pro tip: the standard house package includes a strong bubbly option.

The first ever Abu Dhabi Beauty Week begins on Thursday and it’s primed to give the capital a high ‘brow’ glow up. As part of the events, a series of expert-led Masterclasses will be taking place at Yas Mall and on the 4th, it’s the turn of Guerlain’s Daniel Hamdan, international make-up artist of repute. To help complete your Valentine’s look, Daniel will be unveiling the secrets behind the application of ‘Mad Eyes’. Presumably a different ‘mad eyes’ look to the one when bae turns up without a Valentine’s gift.
