Allegations disclose a definite role played by the minister, says court

The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing on former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodias interim bail plea until October 4. Sisodia is currently in custody in relation to corruption and money laundering cases linked to the now-defunct excise policy. Sisodias lawyer requested urgency in the case, stating that the hearing would require a significant amount of time.

These provisions were, as per the chargesheet, at variance with the recommendations of an expert committee formed by the Delhi government to assess them.

Disposing of Babu's plea, a single-judge bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma said, “Without going into the merits of the case, as well as the medical condition of the children, purely on humanitarian grounds, the interim bail is extended till September 19” subject to certain conditions.

Delhi Liquor: The total excise revenue collection from September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2023, was Rs 7,285.15 crore, including Rs 2,013.44 crore collected as value-added tax (VAT), said an Excise Department officer.
