Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin filed a motion Wednesday to join a lawsuit against a school district for defying an executive order that overturned mask mandates.

In this latest lawsuit, the plaintiffs are students whose disabilities make them particularly susceptible to severe illnesses if they contract COVID-19.

During a Virginia Beach School Board work session Tuesday, administration leaders gave a presentation with the latest COVID-19 mitigation strategies.

This comes after the school board voted last week 7-1 to make masks optional for students, allowing parents to choose if they want to put masks on their children.
