there was a sense that steve bannon was really a touchstone for president trump to the base that got him elected but at the same time, craig, almost from day one, he was waging wars with those in the president aesz inner circle, labeling people like jared kushner, gary cohn, as the west wing democrat and airing those grievances publicly as you ve been discussing throughout the hour. president trump himself thought steve bannon may have been leaking out information. i think in the wake of charlottesville, that s when you really heard the calls for this growing louder for him to go. there was a sense in the wake of president trump comparing white supremacists to counterprotesters that that is something that steve bannon might be pushing, that type of philosophy. the reality, we ve had a series on what we can look at as exit interviews in the past several days in which steve bannon weighed in on all of this, including white supremacists referring to them as a bunch of clowns saying we hav
they act as though the cbo is wrong, then there s no effect to this law. there s likely to be too low is too high. maybe instead of 22 million it will only be 50 million uninsured. maybe it will be 30 million uninsured. the cbo gets it right. they have in the past. the fact that there s some uncertainty does not mean this is not a horrible law, it just means that maybe it s slightly less horrible or more horrible. even if the cbo is off by 7 or 8 million people, that s still 15 million uninsured, what good does that do? republicans do not have an answer for the simple question, why are you doing this? until they have a good answer for why they re passing a law that creates millions of uninsured, it doesn t matter what the cbo said. i said this on the air before, at the end of the obama administration, i did exit interviews with a number of senior staff. what surprised me more than anything, they seemed least
