of war and so on. but that was a day before the arab league, which changed everything? that was well, the arab league had already endorsed the the action are falling off. so the african union, the arab league, a large muslim nato country, turkey, are all having second thoughts about how this mission is going. and we re now scrambling. i read obama s letter from monday. i think he should have notified congress, he did, under the war powers act. what he s doing is legal, i want to state that. i don t agree with senator lugar, but that notification was rather short. the boehner questions are valid. he s asking, what s the duration, what s the mission, what s the cost, what s our exit strategy? and i think the president needs to answer these questions not just for the congress, but for the american people. and what i worry about, andrea,
that the administration thinks that someone else needs to be in place there. yes, they do. was this is specific mission about creating regime change? they say no. and a last question is, just tell me if you don t know, dan, the question of an exit strategy for moammar gadhafi short of, you know, fighting to the death. is there any talk there at the white house about how they could get this guy out of that country without going down in flames? you know, not only do i not know the answer to that question. i m not sure they know what the answer to that question is at all. it s unhe predictable. moammar gadhafi has said he doesn t plan on going in and has been resistant throughout this entire process. while initially said that he was, you know, would abide by the u.n. resolution, that clearly that was not the case, and so i think it s unclear that

strategy. the exit strategy will be executed this week in the sense that we will be pulling back from our much more active efforts to shape the environment. we ll still be in a support role. we ll still be providing jamming and intelligence and other assets that are unique to us. all right. mark halperin, we showed some polls yesterday out from gallup. i want to get your take on it. peggy and mike, this discussion has led to what we re hearing, the conclusion that americans don t know what s next in libya and there s a general exhaustion with war. i want you to look at this first number yesterday, joe klein said it right. it s striking how low the approval number is. usually at the start of almost any military operation you see numbers in the 60s, 70s and 80s. gallup yesterday asked about america s view of our military action in libya, only 47%
that strikes, we haven t had many, but that s a right. that is a right. that s right. under the national labor management bill. and we come upon the 100th anniversary of the shirt waste factory, 146 women died because they were stripped of their rights and safety regulations. sure. we are witnessing a possibility of these house extremists taking us back to a time when we didn t have child labor laws, or safety or clean water or clean air, and they want to strip people of their rights? their rights? that s who they are. katrina, always a pleasure. thank you. great to have you with us tonight. thanks so much. answer tonight s text question right there at the bottom of the screen. we want to know what you think. the president is talking exit strategy for libya. so why are more american forces joining the fight? tonight s takedown, remember all the right-wing fear about health care reform? this health care bill will ruin our country. you re going to die soon.
