My old friend Paul Morrissey was Andy Warhol’s manager and confident. Brash and outspoken, Paul’s long-term collaboration with the low-keyed, taciturn artist has been described as “a successful mismatch.”

Warhol was a father figure to a generation of dispossessed acolytes. He cherished their youth and beauty and used it to make art that was ahead of the game, but the consequences were real and they were not pretty.   

It will be Andy Warhol all the time this winter at the Aspen Art Museum as it will serve as the sole venue for exhibiting his work.
