Rätselhafte Fundamente am Albrechtsplatz - Teile von Dessaus alter Stadtmauer gefunden?

Dessau/MZ - Bei Bauarbeiten am Dessauer Albrechtsplatz sind Reste eines alten Fundaments freigelegt worden, das nun weiter untersucht werden soll. Vermutlich steht dieser Fund mit der ehemaligen Stadtmauer in Verbindung. In früheren Jahrhunderten endete in diesem Bereich das besiedelte Areal der Stadt. Mehr Aufschluss zum Bauwerk erhofft der verantwortliche Archäologe, der den Bau begleitet, durch die weitere Freilegung der Fundamente.
Die Arbeiten am Albrechtsplatz hatten vor zwei Wochen begonnen. Der Platz wird komplett umgestaltet und ist deshalb bis Ende 2021 gesperrt. Danach entsteht an der Kreuzung AlbrechtstraÃe und WolfgangstraÃe ein Kreisverkehr. Die Arbeiten sollen bis Ende 2022 dauern.
