for the environment, much worse for water, and we have to ask ourselves big questions about whether it s in the national interest. well, there would be more oil from this hemisphere that would make us energy independent. wouldn t it do that? we would not be as dependent on mid eastern oil if we have access to this oil even if it is going to be on the open market or whatnot. doesn t it make sense to do this? that s not the case. we have seen transcanada acknowledge this is an export pipeline. they re desperate to ship this oil overseas. this is a pipeline that would go through the united states. there is no benefit for our country but we re being asked to shoulder all the risk. what about the balkan shale
