Bouquet: The Wisconsin Master Gardener Program just celebrated Master Gardener Volunteer Week.
Master Gardener volunteers are an important part of University of Wisconsin-Madison Extension-Florence County. Volunteers make a positive difference in Florence County lives and surrounding communities by designing, implementing and maintaining the gardens at the Florence Natural Resource and Wild Rivers Interpretive Center, and the Downtown Community Center gazebo with flowers.
They also have provided $2,000 in scholarship opportunities to area high schools in Wisconsin and Michigan in 2020 and will do so again this year.
Through hours of community service by answering diagnostic questions, educating the public on horticultural topics, growing and donating food to local pantries from the Community Gardens, beautifying community spaces, conducting workshops, plant sales and more, these volunteers work tirelessly to make this an incredible place to live.
