Flightline, horse everyone will be watching and quite possibly betting next Saturday, put in another eye-catching work Saturday morning at Del Mar, not so much for the speed at which he glided around the track, but at how effortless it appeared.

What may surprise some is the fact that Flightline didn’t appear to scare off many potential rivals from running in the TVG Pacific Classic.

As his horse glided down the stretch at Del Mar Saturday morning, trainer John Sadler was heard to exclaim “gorgeous” as the colt breezed by the grandstand. The ease with which Flightline gets over the ground provokes spontaneous responses like that.

Tizamagician, a 2 1/4-length winner of the Cougar II marathon last summer at Del Mar, will try to do it again Sunday at the seaside track.
