BJP leader Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore criticized the Bihar government for allegedly fooling the people with the recently released caste census. He claimed that videos have emerged showing that government officials did not visit people s homes for the census exercise. Rathore also questioned the timing of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot s announcement of conducting a caste-based census, implying that it may be politically motivated. Gehlot had stated that a caste-based census is important for social security and to tailor special schemes for different castes. The Bihar caste survey revealed that OBC and EBC together make up 63% of the state s population.
