EPAWSS, an advanced electronic warfare system, will allow F-15EX and some F-15E jets to monitor, jam and deceive threats in highly contested environments.

The F-15E Strike Eagle was developed to conflict with the Soviet military but arrived at the end of the Cold War. It has evolved and thrived with the times. 

The F-15E’s predecessor, the F-15 Eagle, had a remarkable air combat record of 104 wins and zero losses. The idea behind the F-15E Strike Eagle was to build on this combat experience and add a better ground attack mode to the airframe for deep strike missions

The Air Force now has the B-61-12 tactical nuclear bomb ready for operational use on its 20 B-2 Spirit stealth bombers.

The success of the F-15 airframe, and the changing threat environment, led to the production of the ground-attack-capable F-15 E-variant – known as the Strike Eagle.
