2 dead in Mandaluyong fire Neil Jayson Servallos © Miguel De Guzman 2 dead in Mandaluyong fire MANILA, Philippines A woman and her 13-year-old granddaughter died when a fire broke out at a residential area in Mandaluyong City shortly after midnight yesterday. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said Pacita Lamac, 55, and Althea Salumbides were trapped in the fire that engulfed a three-story apartment building along Fabella Road in Barangay Plainview. Arson probers said the fire started on the building’s second floor. Firefighters contained the blaze at around 1:35 a.m. About 14 people were affected by the fire, according to the BFP. Investigators said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
