PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (August 26, 2001 - Radio Australia) -The Vatican s representative in Papua New Guinea says the killers of an Australian Catholic priest murdered near Port Moresby must be brought to justice.
Archbishop Hans Schwemmer says the murder of Father Fabian Thom is one of a recent series of heinous crimes that casts doubt on Papua New Guinea s claim to be a Christian country.
Father Fabian was shot dead at a Franciscan Friary outside Port Moresby a week ago last Friday. His killers remain at large.
