Researchers advance 'placenta-on-a-chip' with
<p>Nicole Hashemi and her students have been working for years to develop a &quot;placenta-on-a-chip&quot; that models how medicines, nutrients and other substances are passed from mother to fetus. A new, three-year, $350,000 National Science Foundation Mid-Career Advancement grant will allow Hashemi&rsquo;s group to integrate sensors to the device, test personalized medicine and explore commercialization.</p>
