Now President Trump is calling for a reversal. Mola lenghi reports from washington. Reporter President Trump is reversing the pentagons policy regarding transgender people in the military. In a series of tweets this morning, the president said, the government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the u. S. Military. He cited, quote, the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Ash carter lifted it last year saying it was the right thing to do. Americans who can serve should be afforded the opportunity to do so. Reporter since october transgender people have gotten medical care but recently there was a delay on allowing people to enlist.
