With more than 8,850 students enrolled, Princeton is the third university in the state to require a COVID-19 vaccination prior to attending classes next fall. It joins Rutgers the first major university in the nation to do so and Fairleigh Dickenson University, who announced the requirement last month. Since the start of the pandemic, Rutgers reported more than 1,500 cases of COVID-19 at its three campuses New Brunswick, Newark and Camden, while Fairleigh Dickenson had 47 cases at its two campuses in the United States Madison and Florham.  Other Garden State universities, such as Stockton, Montclair, Rowan and Seton Hall, strongly encourage all members of their campus community to get vaccinated, but have not mandated the vaccine.
