A delegation from the Falkland Islands Government Office (FIGO) in London recently participated in the South Atlantic Medal Association (82) Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Reunion Weekend held in Hull on April 6th and 7th.
Richard Hyslop, the Falkland Islands Government Representative to the UK & Europe, along with Member of the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly, Jack Ford MLA, participated in a series of events in London to commemorate Commonwealth Day.
In observance of Margaret Thatcher Day, Richard Hyslop, Falkland Islands Government Representative to the UK & Europe, paid respects to the late Baroness Thatcher. He laid a bouquet of flowers on her grave, representing the gratitude of the Falklands for her role in the liberation of the Islands during 1982 conflict in the South Atlantic.
Henrietta Barlow, a Year 3 student at the Infant Junior School and Camp Education in the Falkland Islands, has been crowned the winner of the Falkland Islands Government Office s (FIGO) Annual Christmas Card Competition. Mr. Richard Hyslop, the Falkland Islands Government Representative to the UK & Europe, presented Henrietta with a special prize and certificate in recognition of her festive design.
A delegation from the Falkland Islands Government (FIG), led by the Hon. Teslyn Barkman MLA, participated in the Joint Ministerial Council with Leaders and Representatives of the UK Overseas Territories and the UK Government this week at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office in London, FIG informed in a press release.
