A typically tranquil brook overflowed during a torrential downpour, and the rushing water caused a lot of destruction.

The Twin Cities have received more than their share of precipitation this soggy summer, but nothing comes close to the incessant storms that battered the area on Monday. Inundated by rain, Leominster continues to assess the damage from that torrential outburst, which spawned extensive flooding that damaged schools, washed away roads, and prompted evacuations across the city.

Heavy rain occurred in parts of Massachusetts City, causing flooding concerns in parts of Northwestern Boston. NWS reported that flooding and heavy rain would continue in the Northeast, Upper Midwest and Southern Plains. Read here.
