As the days get shorter and chillier, events in and around Chicago are itching to ring in the fall season.

Join a celebration of the horse and the fall season at the Fall Festival at Danada on Oct. 8-9. "Were excited to offer two full days of equestrian performances and fall activities for the first time. Fall Festival at Danada is one of the only free equestrian shows of its kind in DuPage County," said Wayne Zaininger, the centers manager.

Controversies have been sparked, in part, by social Awake Illinois, an organization that was born from the anti-mask, anti-vaccine fervor of the pandemic and has been criticized for anti-LGBTQ rhetoric.

From a Headless Horseman Festival to pumpkin patches and corn mazes, there's a little something for everybody in central Indiana this season.

You know its fall when the days grow shorter; the air, more crisp, and leaves crunch beneath your feet when you step outside in flannel and boots.
