Chairperson Sulajja Firodia Motwani also noted that the industry body is also pushing for the inclusion of electric cars priced up to Rs 20 lakh to get incentives under the third iteration of the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles (FAME) India scheme.
8738 Public Charging Stations: Under Phase-II of FAME-India Scheme, incentives are provided to buyers of electric vehicles in the form of an upfront reduction in the purchase price of electric vehicles. The incentive granted is linked to battery capacity.
The government of India, earlier this month, decided to reduce the subsidies given to electric to-wheelers under the FAME II scheme, effective June 1, 2023.
From June 11, 2021, demand incentive under Phase-II of FAME India Scheme has been increased to Rs15,000/KWh from Rs10,000/KWh with an increase in cap from 20-40% of the cost of vehicle
