Lansing police chief moving to Michigan State University police

Police Chief Daryl Green to retire June 25

Lansing s Police Department has seen its share of controversy under Green s tenure, including the death of Anthony Hulon, who died of asphyxiation after being restrained by police in the Lansing jail. Michigan s Attorney General declined to file charges against the officers involved in Hulon s death, but a civil lawsuit is ongoing. Lansing s Police Department violated its critical incident policies in the aftermath of Hulon s death, the Lansing State Journal found.
