Ten debutantes dressed in traditional gowns and carrying bouquets of red roses were presented to society on November 27, 2021, at Texarkana Country Club. John Crisp, master of ceremonies, introduced each young lady as she stepped from the dais. Vicki Carr and Andrea Finley played the chosen debut song for each debutante as she and her escort circled the room. This season was coordinated by Miss Blaire Barlow. Markila Caldwell, an accounting senior and fashion business owner.  Sahara Smith, a health science senior and owner of Sae Cured It Nails. Seth Jones, a communication design senior and author/photographer.  Andrew John, a theater performance and production junior and actor.  Alexis Patterson, a mass communication senior and YouTube blogger.  When brainstorming what we wanted to do for the Creatives portion of our year-long project focusing on Black students at Texas State, there were difficulties trying to decide the format.

(WTWO/WAWV) -- Indiana State University will celebrate 646 graduating students with a virtual Winter Commencement that will be available online starting at 1 p.m. Eastern on Saturday. ISU will confer degrees on 22 doctoral or education specialist students, 141 master’s students, and 483 bachelor’s students.  ISU will be using the Commencement Reimagined platform, including a personalized web page for each graduate. Family and friends were able to contribute personal messages to graduates. The commencement program is available online.  The speeches, all prerecorded, will include ISU President Deborah J. Curtis, Provost Mike Licari and the deans of the colleges.
