If built out as planned, the Herald Square development would comprise a 156-room hotel, 297 condos, retail space, a promenade and a 337-space parking garage. The project still requires a series of site plan approvals and other reviews, and could take "many years."

The conversion of Portlands iconic Time & Temperature Building to a hotel would, if approved, be overseen by a hotel developer with a track record. Fathom Cos., which is about to open the Canopy By Hilton hotel in the Old Port and converted the old Portland Press Herald building into the Press Hotel, would lead the renovations, if approved by the city.
