โThe First Information Report (FIR) names American businessman Neville Roy Singham and American lawyer and investor Jason Pfetcher. The CBI FIR also names Newsclick founder-editor Prabir Purkayastha and unknown others. The FIR has been registered under relevant provisions of the FCRA Act, 2010. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case against NewsClick for allegedly violating the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act. The CBI is currently conducting searches at two locations in Delhi. Last week, NewsClicks Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Prabir Purkayastha, and HR head, Amit Chakravarty, were arrested by the Delhi Police under the anti-terror law UAPA.
