Heating and Ventilation News Findings from a political lobby group have urged government to reshape incentives and taxation around fuel costs to push the market towards electric heat and away from natural gas The UK should follow in the footsteps of a number of its European neighbours and drastically reshape heat policy with improved support for electrification, a new report has concluded. UK lobby group Public First has concluded that the country “lags behind” other nations with regards to the uptake of heat pump technologies and other decarbonised heat measures. A particular concern in the findings is the comparative lack of incentives for low carbon heat that can support a move to meet the country’s net zero targets. It has also called for action to better balance the costs of electricity when compared to natural gas.
