Amina Noor, 40, has been jailed for seven years for assisting a female genital mutilation on a three-year-old British girl during a trip to Kenya in 2006, in the first conviction of its kind.
Hibo Wardere (pictured), 54, co-founder of the charity Educate not Mutilate, which hopes to eradicate FGM in the UK, said: The conviction is amazing and a game changer.
Basma Kamel (pictured) is a student at London Metropolitan University and she was a victim of FGM at nine years old, after going on a vacation with her mother in Egypt before moving to the UK.
