The Chairman, Board of Commissioners of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, has lost his daughter, Miss Feranmi Fasunle.
The Board, Management, and entire staff of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) have commiserated with the Chairman over the sad incident.
Miss Fasunle, aged 19, was a promising 200-Level student of Political Science at the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, who dreamt of reading Law as a second degree.
A statement signed by Director, Public Affairs, NCC, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, said Fasunle died in the early hours of Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, Ondo State, following spirited efforts to save her.

As Muslim faithful worldwide were celebrating Eid el-Fitri, the students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko were in sorrowful mood as a 200-level student of the institution was said to have committed suicide.
The 20-year-old Feranmi Fasunle of the Department of Political Science was reported to have taken a poisonous chemical which resulted in her death.
According to a source from the university community, the deceased took the poison in her room and started gasping for breath.
She was rushed to the University’s Health Centre from where she was referred to other hospitals but she died this morning.
The spokesperson of the university, Victor Akinpelumi confirmed the incident to Channels Television.
He expressed sadness on the incident, noting that the reasons for her action remained unknown but sources said it might be connected to a failed relationship.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Nigeria has the highest suicidal rate among African countries in 2016 with over 17,000 lives lost to suicide.

The father of Feranmi Fasunle, a 200-level student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo State, who reportedly committed suicide on Wednesday has spoken about the incident.
The father of the deceased, Adeolu Akande, the chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), in a statement to PREMIUM TIMES on Thursday, said the family would reach out to the institution for investigation into the incident.
It was earlier reported by various media outlets that Ms Fasunle died after taking insecticide in her room.
