The 2023 IHF Men’s World Championship said goodbye to co-host nation Poland, as Denmark defeated Spain 26:23 in their semi-final clash.
Later tonight, both teams will get on the same charter flight to Stockholm for their final match of Poland/Sweden 2023, with both in exactly the same matches they played at this stage at Egypt 2021 – Denmark playing for gold and Spain for bronze.

Denmark defeated Sweden 26-24 in the finals of 2021 World Men’s Handball Championship at the Cairo Stadium Sports Hall to emphatically retain their status as World Champions. The first half was an even contest and ended at 13-13. 16 minutes into the second half, Denmark took the lead, Denmark goalkeeper Niklas Landin made some outstanding saves to maintain the lead. Denmark joined Sweden, Romania and France in the team’s list that claimed the World Championship title two times respectively.
