February 15, 2021 MattGush/iStock A home on Fieldstone Lane in Petaluma has been red tagged after a fire Sunday afternoon. Firefighters responded to the fire just after 3 PM. Upon arrival, crews noticed light smoke coming from the front door of the home. They entered quickly to find the couch on fire and an overhead fire sprinkler activated. Firefighters also found an elderly male who they evacuated and evaluated for smoke inhalation. Damage to the home was estimated at $25,000. The cause of the fire is unknown but it could’ve started under the couch due to an electrically overloaded extension cord. A second female adult was outside when the first engine arrived on the scene and was not injured.
