Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti dismissed speculation that splits within the right-wing coalition were behind the result, blaming lawmakers who failed to show up for the vote which took place during a week that included a public holiday. "There is no political problem, it is that the lawmakers either do not know or do not realise (they need to be in parliament)," Giorgetti said after the defeat.
