Some residents in Flathead County in the area of the East Fork Fire are under evacuation orders.

The River Road East Fire near Paradise had grown to over 13,000 acres as of Sunday.

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Several Spokane officials provided an update and answered questions surrounding the devastating wildfires burning around Spokane County on Sunday.

WINONA, Wash. -- The town of Winona, which is about 25 miles west of Colfax, is being evacuated because of an active wildfire.

Firefighters were called to a fire in the West Valley area of Kalispell at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino has issued a mandatory evacuation order due to deteriorating conditions near the East Fork Fire.

A Scott Bar man was found dead on Aug. 16, shortly after the Head Fire broke out in Siskiyou County.

The main concern with the fire at this point is the possibility of it reaching power lines that supply 6,000 service meters between the Canadian Border to North of Whitefish.

As wildfires continue to burn, community members are stepping up to help those on the front lines and those forced out of their homes.
