i don t understand a word not at all. not at all. look, i m traveling with rod. i didn t know rod before. but i ve gotten to know him, and i get along very well with him. all right. hello, everyone. this is kate bolduan. you have been listening to president trump as he s heading down to florida today, speaking about two big issues. now supreme court justice brett kavanaugh and also who s going to be joining him on his trip down to florida. deputy attorney general rod rosenstein. remember, the same rod rosenstein the new york times had been reporting that had discussed secretly reporting the president after his firing of then-fbi director james comey back in 2017, and what the status of his employment status has been a huge question. now, he s heading down with the
amendment, et cetera. you re a democrat. are you going to be there? do you expect to be at that meeting? are democrats invited? we re trying to get into the meeting. you re not invited yet? we re not invited right now. thundersto that s a shame. to have a one-sided meeting with rod rosenstein to try and direct the investigation is improper. firing rod rosenstein to me is the same as firing bob mueller. that d be committing obstruction of justice in plain sight and it would just be exhibit b for, i think, an investigation that will take place in january. rod rosenstein of course the deputy attorney general who oversees the special counsel information. thank you for coming on. i appreciate it. we want to wrap up with today s big picture, and for it we re headed over to indonesia again. why? because this is important. look at this. a woman holding a little one, but look on the right side of your screen, a volcano erupting behind them. that is just three days after that huge earthq
president s tax returns? doing more on this? the american people deserve to know if their president is a cheat. it s really about credibility. he told a lot of people that he was successful, and if he lied about that how can they believe that he will help make them successful. the house ways and means committee can subpoena the records, the chairman can ask for the records by law. the treasury would have to turn over tax records. the republicans can put this to bed by doing that today. the president could put this to bed by allowing that to happen. he won t, so i think it may take a democratic majority in january. do you think that will fire up the voters? again, i don t want it to be about politics. i think it should be about no one is above the law. this is something that democratic and republican presidents have done, and we should know what he has done in the past, especially with credible allegations that fraud was committed. extremely quickly, rod rosenstein is at the whi
across, then i don t know if what jeff flake sought to accomplish was actually accomplished, but, you know, again, i don t want to draw any conclusions until the fbi brings a report back, but i do think that that was one of the better moments of the week and hopefully that type of independent collaboration will occur once that report comes back. quickly because you ve been so outspoken on this very topic, if assistant ag rod rosenstein he is still in the cross-hairs clearly here. if the president moves forward and we understand that the discussion has been moved to next week, if he is removed what are you set to do now? has your tone or your suggestions of what you might do changed at all? firing rod rosenstein is the same as firing bob mueller which i believe is committing obstruction of justice in plain sight. so i plead with the president do not do this. do not go above the rule of law because if you do it won t only be americans who will take peacefully to the streets, but
leaders in congress, i believe, will have to move on articles of impeachment because we cannot allow a president to fire his investigator. at the same time we see not to be forgotten about this kavanaugh confirmation, he is trying to hire his judge. judge kavanaugh may be legally qualified, there s questions now about the sexual allegations, he was only picked by donald trump because he believes that no president can be criminally indicted. so the president is walking a very narrow bridge right now and i really urge him to think twice before firing rod rosenstein. all right. great to have you on this sunday. my pleasure. thank you, sir. when we come back, from a riveting hearing to an fbi investigation, a look at how this week s events in washington is playing out among voters who will head to the polls just over one month from now. d to the polr one month from now you wouldn t accept an incomplete job
