External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that he met with the families of the 8 Indians detained in Qatar and Indian government will continue to make all efforts to secure their release.

Indias Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar held a meeting with the relatives of the eight Indians detained in Qatar, who are accused of spying for Israel. During the meeting, he provided assurance that the government is working on their release. Last week, a Qatari court handed down sentences to the eight former Indian naval officers.

India's External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on Monday (Oct 30) met with families of 8 Indian expatriates who have been sentenced to death in Qatar on charges of spying for Israel. 

The eight Indian nationals were arrested in a case of alleged espionage in August 2022, and on October 26, they were handed the death sentence by a court in Qatar.

EAM said that the government attaches the "highest importance" to the case and will coordinate closely with the families in that regard.
