First Watch: The Daytime Cafe is opening its first Chicago-area location in Oak Brook on Monday. The Florida-based breakfast, brunch and lunch chain has more than 400 locations nationwide.

If approved, the restaurant would occupy roughly the same footprint as the former Romanos Macaroni Grill building, though a new structure would be erected in its place and the old building demolished. First Watch, a breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurant operation with more than 400 locations nationwide, will open its first Chicago-area restaurant March 15 in the Shops of Oak Brook place, next to Nordstrom Rack, in Oak Brook.

Lyndsey Burke, a Wilmington native, has seen the mall change over the years.
